Kaasipublic Codebase Audit Report
1. Architecture & Design
Finding: All logic bundled in DOMContentLoaded
- Severity: Low
- Location: [script.js](file:///b:/AntiGravity/kaasipublic/script.js) (lines 3-383)
- Explanation: The landing page script defines all its modules and handlers inline within the
DOMContentLoaded event. If this is purely AI-maintained, it's not a strict issue. However, extracting them makes the code cleaner to read.
2. Performance & Resource Management
Finding: Unbounded mousemove Event Listeners with requestAnimationFrame
- Severity: High
- Location: [script.js](file:///b:/AntiGravity/kaasipublic/script.js#L37-L60) -
setupInteractiveMockup
- Addressing User Comment: ("Why is this even used for? Let me know.")
- What it does: This specific block of code creates a "3D Hover Tilt Effect". Whenever you move your mouse across the landing page, it calculates the mouse's X and Y coordinates and applies a CSS 3D transform (
rotateX and rotateY) to the main Hero image (the mockup-image). This makes the image look like it's slightly tilting and following your cursor.
- The problem: Because it listens to the
mousemove event on the entire window, it rapidly fires hundreds of times per second as you move the mouse. In its current state, it doesn't throttle or debounce those calls, which can cause jittery animations or drain a laptop's battery faster by demanding continuous CPU/GPU rendering.
- Suggestion: Keep the cool 3D effect, but optimize how it runs. Store the target rotation values on mouse move, and use a single, continuously running
requestAnimationFrame loop that interpolates the current rotation towards the target rotation.
3. Error Handling & Resilience
Finding: Deprecated Clipboard API
- Severity: Medium
- Location: [script.js](file:///b:/AntiGravity/kaasipublic/script.js#L212)
- Explanation: Same as in Kaasibeta, the copy functionality uses the old
document.execCommand('copy').
- Suggestion: Replace with
navigator.clipboard.writeText.
4. Security & Best Practices
Finding: Inline string injection for UI updates
- Severity: Low
- Location: [script.js](file:///b:/AntiGravity/kaasipublic/script.js)
- Explanation: The copy functionality uses
button.innerHTML = '<i class="fas fa-check"></i>';. Since the string is statically hardcoded and not derived from user input, this is safe from Cross-Site Scripting (XSS). However, standard practice usually avoids raw innerHTML unless necessary.
5. Maintainability
Finding: Hardcoded 3D animation values
- Severity: Low
- Location: [script.js](file:///b:/AntiGravity/kaasipublic/script.js) (Flow Field Background / Three.js)
- Explanation: The Three.js background animation logic contains hardcoded values for colors, line counts, and speeds inline. Extracting these to a configuration object at the top of the file would make it easier to tweak the design without hunting through the animation loop.
